Steppin' Out is holding a fundraising event, called Growth Through Art, at 6-9 p.m. Nov. 21 at the Douglas J. Aveda Institute in Royal Oak.
This event is a collaboration with "Stitches - A Doll Project", a non-profit organization for women who are living with HIV/AIDS. Growth Through Art will feature a silent auction, refreshments and dessert, as well as a special viewing of the documentary, "No Day Promised." An exhibit of dolls made through "Stitches - A Doll Project" will also be available to view.
Steppin' Out is a metro Detroit non-profit that helps local individuals and families by supporting direct care agencies and HIV/AIDS education and prevention programs. They also produce AIDS Walk Detroit annually.
"Stitches - A Doll Project" is a Michigan-based travelling art project made for and by women living with HIV/AIDS.
Tickets for Growth Through Art are $20 for adults, $10 for students. Tickets are available for advanced purchase by contacting Steppin' Out, or are available at the door. For more information, call 248-388-9255 or e-mail info@aidswalkdetroit.org.
